Statistics show that one in three teens in the U.S. will experience abuse (physical, sexual, or emotional) from someone they are in a relationship with before they become adults. In addition, college women report having experience dealing with violent or abusive behaviors during dating at a staggering rate of 43%.
For 2021, the theme for Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month (TDVAM) is "KNOW YOUR WORTH", and the goal is to help teens learn about healthy relationships and self-empowerment. In support of these goals, our JBLM DPFR Family Advocacy Program has developed a series of classes and outreach efforts.
If you are a teen who is experiencing dating violence and aren't sure where to turn for help, please contact us at 253-967-5901. We can provide you contact information for available resources in order to get the assistance you need.
