Alcohol is prohibited at JBLM public access American Lake beaches to include Shoreline, the Marina, Summer Cove and NCO Beach. The only exception is for unit events when an Exception to Policy is requested through Outdoor Rec (initiated during pavilion reservation process). Trash at JBLM beaches is everyone’s responsibility. Please pack out what you bring in. There are increased trash receptacles and extra bags for patron use. We appreciate your cooperation and help in keeping our beaches a safe and beautiful place for everyone to enjoy.

Rent a boat to enjoy a day on American Lake or rent a pavilion for a unit or family picnic. Moorage and dry storage slips are available if you own a boat, and we have a great selection of bait and tackle. We're also able to host a number of special events - ask us about what's coming soon! 

Everything you need for a day out on the water. Fishing poles, bait & tackle, ice, refreshments, snacks. Have your own boat? The boat launch fee is $5.

Prices do not include gas (currently $5/gal). Rentals are due back by 5 p.m. Motorboats and pontoons may be reserved in advance.

Boating Requirements
You must have a Washington State Boater Education ID card or equivalent in order to rent a pontoon or motorboat. All boats come with appropriate safety equipment — life jackets, flotation cushion, oars or paddles, anchor, motor shut-off key and instructions on boating operations. You must return all equipment at the completion of your rental. To obtain a Washington State Boater Education ID card, visit boatus.org/washington, register and complete the exam. Upon completion, print out the certificate and bring it or your permanent boater card to the office when you rent a watercraft. All patrons renting a motorized boat or are required to purchase fuel consumed upon the return of the boat.

Paddling
For paddling (canoe, kayak and SUPS), please take the required free paddle sports safety course at https://www.boaterexam.com/paddling/

Reservation cancellations
Reservation cancellations or alterations, outside of 7 Days prior to rental, will receive a full refund. Inside 7 days, patron will forfeit the deposit that was taken to hold the item.

Pavilion Rentals

Reservations are required for all covered pavilions; a 72-hour cancellation or reschedule notice is required for a full refund less the $10 administrative fee. A $25 refundable deposit will be returned if the facility is clean, trash is removed and tables are in their original positions
