If you know, you know...Lake Ingalls — framed by the majestic Mount Stuart and vibrant fall foliage — is a crown jewel of the Alpine Lakes Wilderness, and a bucket-list item for many Washington hikers. Join us for a three-part backpacking series designed to introduce you to the fundamentals of backpacking in a supportive, hands-on environment. You'll learn the essentials of trip planning, gear selection, backpack packing techniques, meal planning and preparations, the 10 Essentials and Leave No Trace principles.
What to expect:
Classroom Session: Monday, Sept. 29 at 6 p.m.
Get an overview of backpacking basics and what to expect on the trail.
Gear Check & Rentals: Wednesday, Oct. 8 at 6 p.m.
Receive help with packing and rent any needed gear.
Backpacking Trip: 6 a.m., Oct. 12 - 6 p.m., Oct. 13
Put your skills to the test during a guided two-day, one-night trip to stunning Lake Ingalls near Cle Elum, WA* Hike up to 10 miles - Elevation gain: Approx 2,250 feet.
Cost: $225
Participant Restrictions: Minimum age: 14, all participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Participants must be able to carry up to 35 lbs for up to 10 miles over 2 days.
What ODR provides: Transportation, guides, instructions, and certain gear will be available for rent.
What you pack: Food, water, weather-appropriate clothing, an overnight pack and gear based on the provided packing list.
