Fields of Friendly Strife is a competition-based program for units! Earn points and bragging rights for your unit by participating in sports, races, esports and more!
How it works: Active duty Service members and their families can participate in Fields of Friendly Strife events and earn points for their unit toward the FoFS Commander’s Cup, which will be presented at the end of the competition year by JBLM Leadership (May 2022–April 2023).
How to register: Visit the Intramural Sports office located in Cowan Stadium or through JBLMmwrRegistration.com.
There are two divisions: Brigade/Group and Battalion/Squadron. Service members and families receive points for participation for their unit in a wide variety of events that include: intramural sports, races, outdoor recreation, Warrior Zone programming, bowling, youth sports, golf, etc. Events are hosted at a variety of locations to include Lewis Main, Lewis North and McChord.
Service members earn points for participation in individual events (1) and team events (10) and more points for top placement in competitive events. Family members can also earn points for the sponsor’s unit for participating in youth sports and activities. For example a child’s participation in youth baseball earns their sponsor’s unit points.
Unit commanders can earn 10 points by posting a “selfie” of their attendance at any Field of Friendly Strife events and posting the photo at fb.com/groups/jblmfofs using #JBLMFoFS.
Service members earn additional points for team-based and individual competition. Teams winning first place overall receive 50 points for their unit, second place is 25 points. First-place individuals receive 7 points, second-place 5 points and third-place 3 points.
“Upon the fields of friendly strife are sown the seeds that on other days, on other fields, will bear the fruits of victory.”
