Stop by McChord Library April 7–12 for National Library Week!
- April 7: Makerspace Monday - What draws you into the library? Is it our super amazing Makerspace available for all patrons to use? Our Makerspace includes a 3D printer, Cricut, stamp maker, button maker, and a sewing machine! Ask us about amazing resources on the web for STL files, fun things to create using the super versatile Cricut, and create custom buttons and stamps to decorate your stationery, backpacks, lanyards, and more.
- April 8: Draw Your Librarian - Show us your art skills as you draw your favorite librarian or the library itself! We’ll have tables and supplies set out to create your portraits that will be displayed at our circulation desk!
- April 9: Comic Book Day - Celebrate your favorite comic or manga. Our favorites will be set out for check-out suggestions, and create-your-own comic book booklets are available to pick up. Ask a librarian for help to create a button of your favorite character!
- April 10: Library Suggestion Day – Want to see new programs or materials in your library? Drop your ideas in the suggestion box, which will be front and canter. We can’t wait to read your suggestions!
- April 11: Describe A Book Badly Day - Give us your most off-the-wall descriptions of a book and see if your fellow library-goers or librarians can guess the title!
- April 12: D.E.A.R. Day – It’s Drop Everything and Read Day! Post a picture of you enjoying your day inside reading a book or come into the library from 10 a.m.–3 p.m. to read in one of our comfy chairs and cozy nooks.
