Register Now!Hope Island State Park is one of the jewels of the south sound. This quiet island is reachable only by boat. Covered with old-growth forests and saltwater marshes, the park features a beach one-and-a-half mile long. Enjoy lunch and explore the island and maybe catch a glimpse of wildlife here. Kayak to Hope Island and back is approximately 4 miles.
Cost: $65
Restriction: Ages 14+ w/ parent or guardian
ODR provides: Transportation, guide, kayak, dry bags, safety gear and neoprene footwear (if needed).
You pack: Water, food, non-cotton clothing. Dress for the water temp, not the air temp- a capsize (and hypothermia) can happen suddenly; avoid cotton, which will chill you, quick-drying clothing is a must. Sun-shielding hat and sunglasses.
