Join us for the Outdoor Rec Expo & Fishing Derby on Saturday, June 8 at Shoreline Park!
Fishing derby from 7-10 a.m. Washington state's free fishing day! No license is required. Preregister from May 1 to June 7 at the Northwest Adventure Center. Free entry! Fishing products will be available for purchase on-site.
Sequence of Events
- 6:30 a.m. Fishing competition check-in & registration
- 7–10 a.m. Fishing occurs
- 10 a.m. Final weigh-in and Outdoor Rec Expo begins
- 11 a.m. Awards
Note: The Fishing Derby requires your equipment. Fish from the kids' fishing tank cannot be entered into the fishing derby competition.
From 10 a.m.-2 p.m. you’ll be able to see a variety of workshops, demonstrations, rentals and opportunities to learn about JBLM’s Outdoor Rec program!
- Instruction and free demos of Outdoor Rec gear (stand-up paddleboards, kayaks, etc.)
- Free kids' fishing tank
- Free climbing wall for kids
- Free bounce houses
- Workshops hosted throughout the event by experts on a variety of outdoor subjects
- Door prizes include: Fishing & camping equipment, outdoor rec trips, rentals of kayaks/boats/paddleboards and cabin stays
- Music
- Food available for purchase
