Note: This event has already passed.

Join us as we head up to Paradise in Mt. Rainier National Park for an overnight trip. Participants will learn the basics of trip preparation, winter travel, shelter construction, winter survival basics, backcountry cooking and “leave no trace” camping. A mandatory pre-trip class will be held at the Northwest Adventure Center on Tuesday, February 12th from 5p.m.-6p.m.
Trip fee includes winter camping class, group gear (not including sleeping bag), transportation, entrance into Mt. Rainier National Park and 3 camp meals (Participants are responsible for lunch on day 1). If weather will not permit snow caves we will be using tents.
Minimum age to participate is 18.

We provide: Transportation, snowshoe, poles, gaiters and instruction/guide.

You provide: Water/food, above ankle insulated boots and appropriate clothing.

Extra items: camera, sunscreen/sun glasses and small hiking chair or pad.

Clothing: You will need gloves, hat, waterproof pants and jacket. The weather in the Pacific Northwest can change drastically, we recommend dressing in layers. No cotton clothing, it is a negative insulator that retains water. We recommend wool, fleece, quick-drying nylon, polyester or another synthetic fabric.

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your location's scheduled departure time.

All participants under 18 must be accompanied by parent or legal guardian.
