Zombie Apocalypse 5K

Please join us for our annual 2019 Zombie Apocalypse 5K and Not-So-Scary 1K! Whether you're trying to burn off those bite-sized candy bars or simply get into the spirit, this race will do the trick. Grab your running shoes and come dressed in your best Halloween costume to face the creatures of the dark on this haunted course. There will be a trunk or treat taking place at Russell Landing and haunted house at Shoreline Park.

The first 350 registered for the 5K will receive a ticket to the Walk in the Dark at Shoreline Park Haunted House at no extra cost.

All participants who register will receive a custom finisher's medal. All participants who register by October 12 will also receive a t-shirt. All registered runners will receive either an "I SURVIVED" or "INFECTED" finisher's medal.

Unaffiliated civilians needing access to JBLM should have an approved, valid form of identification and register prior to October 12. ID’s accepted are Passport, Enhanced ID, or others listed from the Real ID Act. Please allow for extra time to get the pass for the Lewis North gate from the Visitor's Center.
DOD civilians should select the "MILITARY AFFILIATED" option during registration.

Note: Active.com will charge a $3.50 processing fee.

Note: Refunds are not available after September 23. The active.com fee cannot be refunded.

Event details and schedule

Pre-Race Packet Pick-Up:
Friday, October 25: 3-6 p.m. at the Northwest Adventure Center 8050 NCO Beach Road, Lewis North.

Packet Pick-Up:
October 26: 5-7:45 p.m. at Russell Landing Marina 8981 American Lake Ave, Lewis North.

Not-So-Scary 1K starts at 7 p.m.

Zombie Apocalypse 5K: 7:20 p.m. Participants will be released in waves of 50 every 5 minutes. Updates will be provided to participants prior to the race.

Costume contest judging at 7:15 p.m.: We will have a costume contest for the following categories - "Creepiest Costume" and "Is that really a costume?". 

You will get one life (flag) with your registration. You will have opportunities to get extra "lives" by visiting our sponsorship booths. Runners should be present at least 1 hour prior to start for check-in to get extra “lives”.
