Newcomers

The school your child attends is based upon your home address. Children living at JBLM will attend Clover Park District schools. Off-base residents can register their child In school at their local school district. To register, parents must present:

1. Proof of residency – contract for rental property or a utility bill with your name and address on it;

2. Child’s immunization records (current on shots); and name, address and phone number/fax number to last school attended; and a copy of orders assigning servicemember to Joint Base Lewis-McChord.

Service Members should not assume that their children will be able to attend school on base.

Starting School

Children who will be 5 years old on or before Aug. 31 are eligible to attend kindergarten. The child’s birth certificate and immunization records are required for enrollment. Children who will be 6 years old on or before Aug. 31 are eligible to attend first grade. Immunization records and proof of age are required.

In/Out-Processing

All military personnel are required to in/out-process through the School Support Services, which is part of Child and Youth Services. Any questions or concerns pertaining to the educational welfare of your child or children will be addressed at this time.

SAT & ACT Prep Materials Ad

Military Families are eligible to receive SAT and ACT test prep programs for just the cost of materials and shipping. Retailing at $200, the PowerPrep Programs include more than 11 hours of video instruction and 3,000 files of test prep materials, sample questions and practice tests. March2Success-This is a free program that helps students prepare for standardized tests.

Escape gravity with scuba

Many specialty diving classes are available at Joint Base Lewis-McChord SCUBA (one of the only 5 Star PADI Dive Centers in the military), located at the Northwest Adventure Center, Building 8050, NCO Beach Road, JBLM-Lewis North. Safety is a top priority, and divers with medical problems, such as high blood pressure, must have their doctor’s approval and be medically cleared. 

Adult scuba diving classes

Include the basic open water, advance, rescue, the master diver, dive master and the dive instructor. Class meets Monday to Friday 6 to 10 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday in the open water 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. to earn their certification.

At Sheridan Fitness Center, we're all about functional fitness. We specialize in helping you improve your endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, accuracy, agility and balance. Our facility features:
