Friday, June 5
SRP Kickoff Event–Ice Cream Social, 4–7 p.m., Grandstaff Library
Summer Reading at the JBLM Libraries! Visit Grandstaff library to sign-up for either library's Summer Reading Program, grab a registration bag and a sweet treat to keep you cool this summer and learn more about our theme "Plant a Seed, Read!" Stick around for some music, snacks, lawn games and a movie on the lawn. Make sure to stop by every Tuesday for a special event.

Field Day, 4–7 p.m., Grandstaff Library
Summer is here! Head to Grandstaff Library for an outdoor field day where you can test your strength and agility! We'll have a climbing wall, hoverball, jellyball, mini-golf, jousting, bounce house, tug-of-war, cornhole and more. A fun filled evening the whole family can enjoy!

Old McDebbie’s Creatures & Creations, 4–7 p.m., McChord LibraryCluck with chickens, dance with ducks and pet an alpaca with Old McDebbie's
petting zoo! Learn about the lifecycle of animals on the farm and all the ways they
provide for us in our daily lives. Then use your imagination and art skills to help us
create our first "Kids Garden" that will be stationed at the library all summer long!

Jeff Evans The Magician, 4–7 p.m., Grandstaff Library
Nature seems like magic, and so is magician Jeff Evans! Come to the Grandstaff Library and watch this interactive kid-friendly comedy magic act. Prepare to be amazed!

Mikey The Rad Scientist, 4–7 p.m., Grandstaff Library
This week at the Grandstaff Library, learn about the biology and chemistry that makes our gardens grow. Then, get a crash course from Mikey the Rad Scientist to learn all about the unseen world of science!.

Reptile Isle, 4–7 p.m., Grandstaff Library
Sometimes the natural world can be scary, but Reptile Isle will be at the Grandstaff Library to show off how cool and beautiful even the scary things can be. Get up close and maybe even hands-on, with the reptile animal kingdom!

Old McDebbie’s Trains & Composting, 4–7 p.m., McChord Library
Join us at the McChord Library for an exploration of worm composting bins and meet the fascinating decomposers at work. Learn how to care for these tiny creatures and be a
part of their big role in recycling organic matter and helping our environment. Then hop aboard Old McDebbie's train for a ride around the library!

Beach Bash, 4–7 p.m., Grandstaff Library
Nothing says Summer Vacation like some time in the sun! Join us at Russell Landing and get in touch with nature. Enjoy kayak rides, paddle boards, swimming, beach games and sandcastle making!
Friday, July 31
Finale, 4–7 p.m., Grandstaff Library
We did it! Celebrate the end of Summer Reading with one last fun-filled evening held at the Grandstaff Library. Come by for snacks, play games and cool off with water slides, a dunk tank and a bubble foam splash party. BYOT! (Bring Your Own Towel.)
